Today is the day after we reflect on what we are thankful for. (this day is also ironically the day many people push and shove others in line to get the best deal on material items-- I'm definitely not involving myself in crazy tradition.) As part of my new business venture, I've been taking 5-10 minutes each evening for daily gratitude to really focus on what's great in my life - to give thanks. I have to write down 3 things I'm thankful for, and what I have found is that that a routine of practicing gratitude is really good for the soul. For starters, I am amazed that never have trouble writing down three things - and it makes me very happy to think of the depth and breadth of things I have to be thankful for. My beautiful family, random acts of kindness, a good book or article. A heartwarming song, getting in touch with an old friend, the hope of something new.
I've been very focused on the law of attraction lately - which is outlined in a variety of forms like The Secret, The Abundance Book, and by many speakers and groups across the world. I've always believed in it, but I'm really starting to make sure I put it into practice on a daily basis. It takes patience, and it takes perseverance. I find that the more I focus on the good, the more good things come. The more I focus on what is lacking, the more things are lacking. It's truly interesting! Have you ever tried this for yourself?
So here I go - into the holiday season with a full spirit and lots of dreams and goals - and I will use my utmost diligence and strength within me to focus truly on what is important. I have a vision and I. WILL. GET. THERE. First, my family and friends who are like family. Alongside this in parallel my health (so I have as much time as possible with my friends and family.) Health = mental + physical. I need to be in a good state if I'm going to maximize my time. Then it's about spending the time doing the things I love, and recognizing that not every person or situation is going to fit perfectly like a jigsaw puzzle. That's okay. Imperfection is okay. If I focus on the positive, the imperfections don't really matter anyway, do they??!
Less than 4 weeks until Christmas. Time for joy in our homes and hearts, and giving to those who are less fortunate. I have been reflecting a ton and have some serious writing to do over the next month if I'm going to hit my 37 blogs per year!
Sleep well everyone, and think about what thankfulness means to YOU on a daily basis. Be thankful and focus on the positive. You'll get so much in return that you'll be glad that you did.
